What Happens After The Eclipse?

The 2024 Great American Eclipse in Aries packed a serious punch and opened the door to a brand new paradigm of change. But after all is said and done—4 minutes of complete darkness later—the work has only really just begun. The eclipse itself was the fun part. Now we must let the energies do their job and guide us through the process of deep transformation. Change is hard, so here’s some eclipse survival tips to help navigate it.

Eclipses aren’t particularly rare, occurring twice a year around the world; however the next time we have a total solar eclipse visible in North America won’t be until 2044.

My Eclipse Recap:

Sometimes life feels completely out of our control, yet despite all the craziness, there are moments where we find ourselves randomly positioned yet perfectly aligned in some sort of inexplicable, sophisticated system of organized chaos. How the Universe operates at this level of divine intervention is way above my pay grade, but I respect it when I see it in practise. What I’m referring to here are those big (or small) moments of cosmic alignment where we feel like we are in the right place at the right time, otherwise known as “synchronicity”. Synchronicity could be as simple as seeing repeating numbers on license plates, clocks and street signs—as if the Universe were speaking directly to you, or it could be a coincidental move to Texas that places you directly in the path of totality for one of the biggest cosmic events of the decade: the Great American Solar Eclipse.

Depending on your algorithm (mine being approximately 50% astrology content), you may have noticed a lot of online hype leading up to this total solar eclipse. Historically speaking, there is a lot of superstition surrounding these major celestial events, and unfortunately there tends to be a base level of fear-mongering that happens to try and take away from the profound impact that eclipses can and do have on humanity (particularly for the people located along the eclipse path). Texas is considered a key player being initiated under the influence of not only this eclipse, but the sister eclipse that crossed America in 2017. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming changes potentially spearheaded by the great state of Texas in upcoming years.

As someone who was there live on the ground in Austin, I can vouch that the experience was ethereal, otherwordly, awe-inspiring, intoxicating, uplifting, and powerful. Despite significant cloud coverage and the impending threat of rain leading up to the moment of totality, it was still a sight to behold and a magical experience that I will never forget. The energies coming in during the eclipse were transcendant and blissful, and since then the light has only continued to pour in, which may have us feeling a lot of different ways.

Don’t Take Eclipses Personally.

Eclipses can bring all sorts of fated events and unpredictable plot twists and turns (don’t you love how the Universe loves to keep things spicy?). If you are an Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn Sun/Moon/Rising, you may have felt personally victimized by the intensity of this eclipse portal. In true Aries fashion, the Universe has been making executive decisions on our behalf without too much consideration or sensitivity regarding the aftershock. Aries energy can be a little bit…jarring. Consequences are typically an afterthought, or virtually non-existent, which is why Aries can move so fast from one thing to the next. You just have to trust that this level of IDGAF and speed has a time and a place—which is now.

So, if you’ve been blind-sided by a break-up, eviction notice, lay-off, or weird illness in recent weeks, keep in mind that all this change and upheaval is nothing personal. It’s just an activation and a surge of energy to move you in the right direction. Aries energy gets us going and puts things in motion. Whatever is happening in your life at this time has probably been brewing silently in the shadows for a while and it was only a matter of time before things boiled over. In other words, don’t cry over spilt milk (save that for Cancer season).

Post-Eclipse Tips: Surviving the Chaos

Whatever chaos or change you’re navigating at this time, here are some tips to get through the thick of eclipse season:

1. Awareness: Pay attention to the themes/patterns/events unfolding in your life. Have you been here before? Nothing is brought to our awareness by accident. Notice if any familiar themes/people/situations/issues are resurfacing from the last 6-12 months.

2. Trust Your Intuition: Listen to your intuition and instincts that are guiding you forward. You may not be able to see the path yet, but if you tune into your Higher Self, you can feel it. Don’t let doubt hold you back or keep you from chasing your dreams. Only you can lead the way. Your intuition is the most reliable navigation tool you have—time to start working with it.

3. Integration: This month has been energetically intense and will continue to be for a few more weeks. Help your body integrate these powerful new cosmic energies by adding some extra self-care into your routine. Clear your energy regularly (burning sage, salt baths, crystal work, cord-cutting rituals are all helpful). You might feel extra tired or exhausted for no reason. Take extra rest if you need it and don’t judge yourself if you’re not feeling as productive as usual (we also have Mercury Rx until April 25th).

4. Let Go: In order to move forward towards our destiny, some things inevitably must be left behind. If things in your life seem to be breaking down (or breaking up), it’s important to cut ties (and cords), send love and gratitude, and move towards your highest path and purpose without guilt or regret. This may require you to be more objective about what is and isn’t serving you. Don’t be afraid to make difficult decisions that you know are right for you, regardless of the criticism or resistance you encounter from the external world.

5. Embrace Change: Yes, life is crazy. No, we can’t stop it. Can we blame the stars sometimes? Yes. The better you become at navigating change, the easier the next decade will be for you (spoiler alert: things are about to get a whole lot crazier in the upcoming years). Change is here to support you by bringing in what your soul desires most. Lean into it, even if it’s uncomfortable.

6. Surrender: This one is tough but trust me, it’ll make things easier in the long run if you just give in and stop trying to fight fate. There is always a bigger plan unfolding. Embrace the blind faith that any redirection is just God’s protection. I stand by this philosophy through and through and it always reigns true, even if it takes some time to see the final outcome.

Embracing the Aries Archetype: Fearlessly Moving Forward

Trust what needs to be left behind as you march fearlessly towards a new future, even if you don’t quite know where that path leads yet. Trust that whatever unexpected changes and shakeups have disrupted your life recently are all part of our collective cosmic re-org. We all have a part to play and no one can outrun their karmic fate. Eclipse season is a time where we must face our past in order to create a new future that is in deeper alignment with our soul. It is never too late to course-correct or step onto a higher timeline. Whatever direction you want to go, the Universe will help you get there, just suspend your expectations on how it will unfold. Life is full of surprises, especially when eclipses are involved. Hang tight, it’s going to be a wild ride.
